Week Of Full Closures Scheduled For Portion Of Long Island Expressway

Scheduled road work could slow Long Island drivers down in the coming days.

In the Town of Oyster Bay, both directions of the Long Island Expressway will see overnight closures the week of Sunday, Oct. 27, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.

Beginning Sunday, the westbound lanes will be closed between exit 46 and exit 48 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, for approximately one week.

All eastbound lanes will be closed through the same stretch beginning Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., for approximately one week.

Drivers will follow signed detours onto the service roads.
